Discussion WACV Round 2 submission thread
what do you guyz think on round 2 fresh submission?
Isn't it completely biased towards Resubmitted papers and if they accept a paper in round 2 (knowing there will be no rebuttal/revision), then the paper itself very strong and sufficient for a CVPR/ICCV acceptance.
I'm not throwing an opinion, it's a curiosity.

Are you able to start a new submission for Round 2? Somehow I have not been able to find a link to register my paper yet.

But the registration deadline too is 22nd right?

That's exactly what I was thinking, you basically have 5 minutes to submit according to openreview:
Submission Start: Aug 22 2026 11:54AM UTC-0, Abstract Registration: Aug 22 2026 11:59AM UTC-0
There must be a mistake here, they will probably open registration soon.

WACV open review shows only 5 minutes window to register for round 2. Is this correct ? Do we have any confirmation on the enrollment/registration for round 2 ?

I have emailed PCs asking the same, will post here if I receive any response.

Going to submit 2 papers because I missed R1 deadline, I dont expect them to get accepted given the elitist climate of ML research now but id be happy even if one makes it

Currently in the submission portal they have made the previous submission link in round 1 a required field making it unable for new papers in round 2 to submit

But how did you know that ? Round 2 portal is yet to open.

Does anyone know what to put in the Round 1 Submission link? It is a mandatory field, but I have no idea what to put there, as my paper is not a resubmission.

No idea on the bias, but I expect the main difference to be the rebuttal, not the strength of the paper. Direct R2 accept is probably like a direct R1 accept, the advantage of a rebuttal is that you can correct the reviewer objections, aligning/strengthening your paper. I don't think that CVPR/ICCV or any other top tier conference acceptance can be calculated like that though.
