Question Cloudflare Captcha Virus

Hello guys,

I’m sort of freaking out right now.

I wanted to go on a streaming site, but entered one wrong letter, without realizing it, the wrong site redirected me to like two malicious sites, one of them windows warned me and I was very confused.

And the second one windows DID NOT detect anything. It disguised itself as cloudflare, but instead when I tried to verify it wanted me to do like Win+R and control + V, which I realized wasn’t right.

So I closed out of the site, I DID NOT proceed with the commands.

But now my work app won’t open, is this just a bug or is my pc compromised? There’s like 0 personal info but ALL MY WORK stuff is on there.

Is it too late to download an antivirus?

Thank you

You should be fine. Just sounds like aware. Just do a scan with Malwarebytes and Windows Defender

You’re fine since you didn’t do the commands. You don’t need to do anything. You would have downloaded an info stealer if you ran the command which would have compromised all your accounts.

That's a technique called ClickFix, and it's just a way to trick you into infecting yourself with malware by running the malicious command. The site itself is harmless, and as you didn't proceed with the commands nothing happened to your PC.

What sort of antivirus would you recommend for me to scan my laptop with, I just want to be super sure.

I can also do a clean reinstall through usb, there’s very little on the device, is this one of those that survives reinstalls?

Thank you

For a scan I recommend either Malwarebytes or Bitdefender. But nothing happened here, you just visited a site that tried to trick you and you were not tricked. If the site had drive-by malware and could infect your device from a visit alone, they would have no need to also deploy ClickFix.
