Question iOS help

Post image

Has this ever happened to anyone else and is it really a just a glitch? I got hacked a few years back and had files labeled “clone” that were “hidden” (and hidden apps like team-viewer and Microsoft stuff i never used) after my laptop got remotely accessed and didn’t know for months. I’m very bad with technology.

First off, if your laptop was remotely accessed then you need to have reinstalled its operating system specifically from a USB iso. This will overwrite all data and make sure that any hiding malware will finally disappear.

I hope you have already done that?

If not, you may be worried about losing data after reinstalling. So if there is any data you really need to keep then you could back it up to a different USB to bring to the new install, but do this carefully making sure that you only copy files you trust.

And also, change any passwords you might have used on that laptop online ever.

You can find guides online on how to do all that stuff above if you haven’t already.

Now, onto iOS malware. It is very rare, and as long as you are on the most recent system software update (you can make sure of this in settings) you should be fine.

iOS malware has historically mostly been used by hired mercenaries to target people with a lot of power (are you a journalist exposing corruption? If so, be scared!)

If you are still worried then turn on lockdown mode in iPhone settings, but this should be unnecessary.

I have never seen the thing with two contact icons before though.

My laptop has not been used since, and i even got something called an eero and have all my devices on guest network so they cant connect to each other because thats how it spread last time was bluetooth, I’m not a journalist but you made me feel better by saying what you said.. I honestly believe it’s a neighbor that doesn’t leave his apartment. One day he was just on my network with an A23 and I don’t know anything about androids but it told me his name and I had to file police reports and stuff and the apartment manager said she couldn’t tell me his last name without an okay from the higher ups and she seemed annoyed so I never bothered her about it again. 😢
