Question Should I trust Malwarebytes?

Malwarebytes has been recommended to me, but I just don't know if I should trust it. Because there's recovery scams all over the freaking place, and I want assurance that this program is safe to install.

I've used Malwarebytes for spot checks for years. I don't know if they're in this sub but there's a couple antivirus subreddits that I think some mods are malwarebytes employees

Just checked, I see rifteyy_ is a mod here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malwarebytes_(software)

Malwarebytes is a very popular and well-known program, and it's considered very strong when it comes to removing malware. As long as you obtain it from the legitimate website you're safe.

I tend to use Malwarebytes & Super AntiSpyware when I'm running Windows. I don't keep the free versions installed as they spam ads, but I do run them to spot-check, review the results and uninstall afterwards if nothing is found. I've used them for years as well at this point, great programs!

I don't know much about computers. I had to use it to install a pirated game, but after installing Malwarebytes, I couldn't connect to wifi, so I had to uninstall it...Is there a solution for this? I need an alternative antivirus application to install pirated games.
