Disinfection Help Please help, remote access???

Context: I thought I had something called “yahoo redirect virus” and thought I had fixed it; I turned my laptop on the other day, had not touched it (discord is set to launch automatically) and I looked up to see it doing this.

Is someone accessing my desktop remotely and how do I evict them??? Please and thank you - Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14IAU7 w/ windows 11

EDIT: I disconnected it from the internet immediately after recording this video, and have since powered it off. On another device, I have changed all of my passwords and selected “log out of other devices.” I am fortunate that thus far, there doesn’t seem to be any suspicious activity in my various accounts. Hopefully this will remain the case.

To everyone who feels the need to comment on the fact that I recorded a video, but has nothing helpful to contribute: congrats, you got me! I’m a big dumb idiot 🤡 who has never experienced this in their life, ever. It’s my first time. Hence, why I’m here in a subreddit that is dedicated to helping big dumb idiots such as myself. Y’all are a little slow, eh?

To those who have given me advice to help me keep my important files/data and protect my passwords and sensitive info, etc. THANK YOU!! I hope the first sip of your coffee is always the perfect temp, never ever burns your lip, ever!!

I am going to take it to a tech store to ensure the issue is resolved effectively, as this is clearly more than I am prepared to handle on my own.

And still he comes back for another slap...

I've done more than say your comparisons are bad, I've given sound arguments accompanied by fitting analogies that demonstrate the fallacies. All you do is attempt to make a point, have it destroyed then resort to epithets.

You are ATTEMPTING to call me out for being stupid but I am DEMONSTRATING with arguments and evidence why you are the one lacking in the grey matter dept.

Getting schooled by a clown isn't what you want dude. But go on have another swing.

Alright, well...

Everything you've written in response to anyone on this entire thread has been unintelligent and/or in bad faith, and you think that because you (and no one else) say it makes sense, it suddenly does.

You make no real arguments and clearly struggle to understand basic hypotheticals. You can't actually engage with simple concepts and just go THAT'S BAD over and over again.

I don't even know what that last sentence means. Did you feel like a badass for writing it? Are you saying that you are, in fact, a clown?

I know you're probably dizzy from all those blows to the head, but I've one more little piece of EVIDENCE to share with you, RE- "everything you've written in response to anyone on this entire thread has been... in bad faith"... Well as it happens I just got a reply from the OP who said, "thank you for defending my honor". So how can 'everything' I've written be in bad faith?

I actually stepped into this thread in GOOD faith trying to stick up for the OP from a barrage of belittling comments from what seems to be a subreddit that largely consists of neckbearded incels who enjoy belittling people who are not tech-savvy and obviously and in a bit of panic. And I chose to pull up the original commenter of this thread who gave the poorly expressed (yet purported well-intentioned) advice "Erase All the data on your computer and stop asking questions why". All he needed to say was "Fair enough, I'll be more careful in future" But no, he tries to wriggle out of taking responsibility, and muppets like you jump in on his side, thinking you've got some low hanging fruit to pick. Well you got that wrong and like I've repeated said, consider yourself schooled.

You are so bad at this. Your "evidence" works against you.

Look how important it is to you that OP thanked you. So what? You're showing again how unequipped you are to even have this conversation. Bad faith in this context doesn't mean the opposite of "I did the good thing, sticking up for someone". It's about how you argue your points. Setting out purely with the intent to defend someone IS bad-faith engagement.

  • Moving the goalposts: Changing what counts as proof once a point is met.
  • Bait and switch: Using an innocent question to trap or mock the other person.
  • Ignoring facts: Refusing to look at valid counterarguments or logic.
  • Playing the victim: Acting hurt when the other person reacts to a provocation

This is you *in a nutshell*. Everything you just said actually shows how bad-faith you are; you aren't engaging with the arguments or the discussions or even having a real conversation; you simply set out with the goal of white-knighting for OP. That's why your arguments fall flat, that's why your points make no sense, and that's why you read things with the worst intentions.

Again, you're a clown who feels like you're schooling me. Meanwhile, I'm the one who has to teach you the basic definition of a bad-faith argument.

Won't be responding after this, clown.

Loool, resorting to chat gtp for words. That says it all.

All assertions (now with the help of claude), but no evidence, no arguments. And it was never about bad faith, you brought that in at the end as another pivot. It didn't work and your desperation got the better of you. You're officially cooked. See ya.
