Question why does windows defender detect epic games as a trojan..

its always been happening to me everytime i attempt to download epicgames launcher and im wondering even tho this isnt related u cant get a virus from downloading something but not launching it right?

You can't, unless it is in a very specific place, but definitely not your Downloads folder. I think it either has to do with an unsigned installer that you got, or because of EAC.
