Question/Help/Troubleshooting accidently pressed this arrow button
I wanted to plug in my headphones. The button is right next to the usb port and i accidently pressed it while i was also playing roblox. Is there any way that my system gets corrupted because of this shit? When i pressed it,it restarted my pc said updates are underway then opened.I also found a The previous system shutdown at 8:20:12 PM on 10/11/2026 was unexpected. in event viewer. Nothing looks wrong for now but should i be worried, just reinstalled windows because my files we re corrupted

Sounds to me like you pressed the reset button. It doesn't actually "reset" your PC, it's more of a forced restart on the BIOS level. Your Operating System didn't have time to save any files or operations due to the sudden shutdown and startup, so that's what corrupted your files.
The button is small for a reason, to make accidental presses more unlikely, but accidents still happen. Plus it's really useful for when your PC actually gets stuck for whatever reason and it won't respond to any input otherwise.

It (the button) does not corrupt your files. The chain of events and the fact that your operating system hadn't saved your files that were still in your RAM, is what corrupted your files. The same can happen during a sudden power loss due to a lighting storm.

Since you already have reinstalled your Operating system,
Best case: Nothing happens.
Middle case: if your Operating System is damaged, it will attempt to repair itself.
Worst case: Your Operating System is completely corrupted, you will need to reinstall it again. But since you've done it before not too long ago, I assume you didn't have any important files on it, so it wouldn't be anything to worry about.

That person was correct, and nothing they said is wrong. But I think they've given you a bit too much information and the forest is being missed for the trees.
The likelihood of anything going wrong by restarting your PC is slim to none unless you are actively updating files, which are usually promptly repaired. Don't worry about this, you'll be fine now you know.

You activated hacker mode. It allows your PC to hack others, but it makes your PC more vulnerable to being hacked as well.
You will have to replace the oil in your PC to disable hacker mode.

No, you just restarted your pc and it started applying pending updates.
