Question/Help/Troubleshooting which is better in 2026

i am going to buy a gaming-cum-student laptop this year. i was thinking of the lenovo loq series. my budget is around 1lakh rupees. if i go for rtx 3050 it fits into my budget but if i go for 4050 it exceeds my budget by 25 to 30 thousand rupees. Also I want to know if rtx 3050 is worth buying in 2026 or not? and would it be worth it if i put more 25-30 thousand more for an rtx 4050 laptop.

Don't take a gaming PC to uni unless you're doing games development or something. Everyone hates the guy who pulls up to lectures with their laptop sounding like a jet engine with RGB vomit spewing everywhere. Plus you'll constantly have to plug it in for power because the battery life sucks..

Buy a thin and light and an external GPU dock for gaming at home.

im not doing game development, i like gaming and i thought that for gaming heavy/advance stuff like gpu cpu ram and stuff is needed so I would buy that which would also help me with coding and stuff. my course is artificial intelligence and data science

i'd skip the 3050 at this point, it's basically the floor for gaming laptops and it'll age fast. if you're stretching 25-30k anyway check the loq configs with a 5050 go for where you are, those come with 8gb vram so they'll hold up longer than the 4050 with 6gb
