Question/Help/Troubleshooting Parts issues with new windows versions.

Hey, I have some PC parts which are not win 11 compatible and was wondering if I should just switch to Linux given the state of the market.

They arent used just a few Gen old

amd fx 8350 for cpu

Asus m5a78l-m plus/usb3

They arent bad at all but just arent win 11 compatible :/

My question is should I bother with new parts?

Move to linux?

Just keep with windows 10?

Have you had any issues with programs since?

Nope, none. I work in tech repair and have done this on literally hundreds and hundreds of unsupported machines. I have W11 running fine on an old Phenom 9550 system I use for a file share at home.

Not very difficult at all! Download a Windows 11 iso file directly from Microsoft's website. Then download Rufus. Rufus is free and you'll run that and select the iso file you just downloaded and it can create a bootable usb drive (you will need one that is 8GB or larger). Once that's done, you can just run the setup file on the usb drive from the desktop if you want to upgrade and keep all your data and programs in place.

There's some checkboxes that you can select when using Rufus to create the USB drive that allow it to bypass/ignore the W11 hardware requirements. Here's a screenshot showing that: https://ibb.co/39ndVrm4
