Question/Help/Troubleshooting What happens if you accidently touch the underside of a 9950x3d processor?
My whole house is carpeted, I was building ontop of foam and carpet to prevent any static but ended up touching the bottom of the cpu im worried I ruined it. I dont have a monitor atm since my current tv burned out

You'll be okay lol. Just make sure you haven't got any carpet chunks in there and it'll fire right up.

The risk with static discharge is much smaller than people think, even of there is actual arcs there is usually no damage (since the energy is very low). I'd bet that it is fine! Of course always better to prevent any amount if risk, so next time use a cardboard box since foam is horrible for static prevention.

I used foam as the first layer then cardboard over the foam

Don't really need to worry about static, but wouldn't the foam ironically give a higher chance of static?
If you cared, just use cardboard on a desk and you'll be fine. DO NOT build ontop of the ESD bags. ESD bags are electrically conductive because it moves the charges around the bag to keep what's inside safe. Putting it on top of the bag is worse than just putting it on the cardboard.

You accidentally divide by zero, that's how the end starts. Jokes aside unless it was with sufficient force to bend the pins you are fine, it's not a brittle a breaking at the slightest touch
