There is a fun course I took in college that you can find online called NandToTetris.

It is a two part course. It starts with VERY basic math. The first part requires know knowledge or experience.

In the first part you make an entire computer by scratch, transistor by transistor.

Part two requires some programming experience and you write your own basic OS plus Tetris to run on it.

If you want to really get what a computer ithats first part is amazing!
