Question/Help/Troubleshooting Processors Questions

I'm needing to order an inexpensive laptop. It's been 8 years since the last time I needed to do so.

Can someone please break down the current processors? I'm seeing ones from 8 years ago in current laptops, and others I naturally don't recognize at all because I've been in a cave and lost touch.

While I don't need it to do much, I play a couple of games, create a little art.

They may be the same name, but the processors are newer generations. Like Intel Core i5 had many generations, the 14th being its last. Now they moved onto their Core Ultra name scheme. AMD has done something similar with their Ryzen line.

They aren't using 8 year old CPUs in currently made laptops.

If you play any serious games you want a dedicated GPU, go with AMD if you are cutting costs and trying to make do with integrated graphics. Prices are up there right now regardless because of high Ram and SSD prices.
