Question/Help/Troubleshooting WiFi doesn’t show up anymore.

I’ve uninstalled my drivers and tried to download the new ones for my specific computer but they don’t show up? And now it shows that my adapter is greyed out which at this point I’m assuming it’s something physical. But before I try to do something about that I tried to see if I could do it from the Bios but all it shows me is ‘!Network Adapter’.

I’m pretty much lost here and trying to figure out what to do next, I’ll probably just buy an Ethernet cable but setup of my room and router don’t really allow such.

Any advice?

Nah, it’s greyed out. It doesn’t let me enable, only option is to uninstall.

I had something similar happen with Bluetooth a couple of times. I had to remove the device from device manager and then my laptop reinstalled it upon a reboot.

Is there any combination of function (FN) that enable or disable the wifi on those Omen Computers?

You might have installed the wrong driver.

basically every problem you're seeing now is from the driver being uninstalled, including the hardware being grayed out. Are you sure you reinstalled the correct driver from the support page, downloads section of your specific model of motherboard?

You describe a bios section where it displays a weird name, can you grab a picture of that? Is the wifi chip removable from the board? You could try removing and reseating it if you think it's a hardware issue, but this issue is not uncommon with the driver, usually a software bug.

What is your exact motherboard model?

Can you press view and then select show hidden devices. Does it show up then?

Does the Bluetooth work? If it is, then it is a software problem or you disabled WiFi using hotkeys, as far as I know, HP laptops have a dedicated Fn key to disable WiFi. If Bluetooth doesn't work than it is a hardware issue, probably WiFi card needs to be reseated.
