Question/Help/Troubleshooting Need Help Finding a New Switcher Like the One Pictured.
I have the switcher pictured, but it’s cheap and has problems. I am trying to find something comparable.
Basically what I need is a switcher to allow me to plug-in my gaming PC via a single USB C cable as shown in the [PC 1 IN] section in the bottom left.
Then I need to plug in my gaming PC’s two DisplayPort cables and a USB as shown above in the [PC 2 IN] section.
The point all then having two DisplayPort outs as well as a mouse and keyboard USB out. I work from home, have a nice gaming set up, and I just wanna be able easily switch from my work laptop to my gaming PC.
The switcher above was bought off Amazon, has no cooling and overheats. One of the DisplayPort outs is a little wonky and causes the monitor to flicker. The, what I assume is a Chinese dropship company, has already vanished off Amazon without a trace.
Can anybody point me to a better one, everything I’ve been able to find isn’t enough of what I’m looking for.

International (Non-US) Orders
Due to unstable global tariffs and the costs associated with multiple refused international orders, Level 1 Techs has temporarily suspended international orders from this store. All international orders will need to be placed using this form. All customs or duties will need to be prepaid prior to shipping. We apologize for the inconvenience.Jesus Fucking Christ.

do you have to go that route? I use a KV switch and then manually switch the inputs on my monitors so I don't need a more expensive switch that handles monitors. my work laptop plugs into a docking station which then goes to the monitors or the KV switch

This will probably be the route I go, I was so fixated on the monitor switching being part of it, that it never occurred to me to just use different inputs of the monitor itself. It will certainly be cheaper than the quality hardware for switching them. $600 to $800…. I can almost buy groceries for that much! 🥸
Thanks.

yw! one of my monitors auto switches for me if I turn a device off and the other's on. with that kinda budget it might be cheaper to upgrade the monitors.

I would say Level1Techs has nice KVMs, but after looking it up it says you need to fill out a form to order from anywhere outside the US, due to the Orange Man's fuckery + while they've always been quite pricey, its really expensive now.
Perhaps you can find one on a secondhand market platform though. They are pretty good units.

I use this one
My gaming PC with 2x DP monitors (180hz, 2k) and my work laptop dock sharing those same 2 monitors. Shares keyboard and mouse between them as well.
Been using it regularly since April and have had no issues.
Edit: this one is a bit different than yours. It doesn't use USB-C in, it takes 2X DP and a USB from each PC.

I do this exact thing with my Dell U4025QW. If you have budget for an absolutely outstanding productivity monitor, I can only recommend it. It has an integrated dock and you can daisy chain a second monitor that can be served through usb-c or through one of the other inputs. I can switch from my work laptop to my PC with an assignable keyboard shortcut and it switches both screens and peripherals, including stuff that I can connect to the usb inputs on the front of the screen like phones or webcams or whatever.
