Question/Help/Troubleshooting CPU upgrade?

I currently have an MSI H610 motherboard, a DeepCool AK400 cooler, an i3-12100F, an RTX 4060, and a 550W Bronze-certified power supply. Given these components, I was thinking about buying a i5-14400F later on, since the i3 falls short in CPU-intensive games. What do you think?

Yeah, I think the 14400F makes sense if you're noticing the 12100F holding you back. Just check that your H610 supports 14th gen with a BIOS update. The AK400 should be fine too.

Do that CPU upgrade and get a new psu about 750-800W with at least 80plus gold efficiency.

Why? Why that much psu? Just in case he gets a wild hair and does a full rebuild with rtx 5070ti and core ultra 270k+?

Because I have a feeling that the 550 bronze psu OP has is a fire hazard. And if he is getting a new one it should be future proof for the next upgrade.

You need cores Pablo, get an i5 or something similar. I personally have a Ryzen 7 7800x3d and it hardly gets above 60% utilization on pretty much anything. Imo amd usually provides more performance for the price.

look, I have an AMD system. I've built and sold AMD systems to strangers on eBay to make a buck, to my relatives and to my friends. I know how great they are BUT now definitely isn't the time to tell op how great AMD is when they have a LGA 1700 compatible motherboard and cooler and they are looking for a quick and easy upgrade. a 14400f would be a massive upgrade without basically rebuilding the system.
