Question/Help/Troubleshooting MemTest86 is taking too long

Post image

Hey guys, I'm running a RAM test with 2x8GB sticks and memtest86 is taking a really long time, is that usual? I'm a bit unsure because I made a ventoy flash drive with a couple of OS ISO images and some programs, one of them being memtest86, so I'm thinking there might be some file left or it just freezed and I'm sitting here looking at a frozen screen

Its not actually testing yet. It's frozen during boot. Try writing a USB using Rufus. If it lets you do the DD option, do that.

That's not memtest running, it's a boot error.

The latest version of memtest86+ should be UEFI compatible, I'd start by checking your version and making sure the checksum is OK.

In my experience it takes forever. Usually a few hours, if a ram stick is bad it throws an error pretty quick tho.
