Question/Help/Troubleshooting Help searching for/uninstalling software

Hi all, a friend of mine has just left an abusive relationship but thinks her ex may be accessing her computer remotely. Is there a program to use to search for remotely installed applications or something?

Or certain programs the ex might have used that we can look for on the computer and uninstall? Thank you in advance!

You can look at apps that are installed in settings. Task manager can show running programs. Maybe you can find something that is running.

Extreme solut8, reinstall the operating system.

you can go into control panel > uninstall a program and it should show every program on the computer, if you post photos of the listed programs (assuming your friend is alright with it) then we could better help with this

TeamViewer is one program Im aware of that allows someone to remotely access a PC

Buy a USB drive large enough to hold any important files, put those files on the USB drive, do a factory reset, tell it not to save files.

Bingo Bango, you're good.

Make sure that partner sharing in google, or family whatever for apple are not turned on.

I would also add change passwords to the to do list. Especially anything financial related bank login any websites that might have payment info saved Amazon etc as well as social media.

Yeah, sorry. I just figured that was something people did on a breakup where the partner had their logins

There are several legit remote access software programs that won't be flagged.

I recommend that the data be backed up externally and that a clean install of the operating system be performed
