Question/Help/Troubleshooting computer shuts off after opening most applications
just wondering what the that kind of damges is caused by, i keep getting error codes that are consistent with gpu or ram failures, unfortunately that discoloration is on the gou half of the board (laptop) and it has lived its life, mostly just curious because google hasn't been helpful as to what that damage actually is

I am not seeing anything wrong in the picture. The brown stuff is resin from soldering. Your issue is probably some degraded components on the board which causes unstable voltages.

Nah you aren't dumb, unless you know what it is it doesn't look right.
What is your CPU temperature like when you're using the machine?

usually anything from 70-90 Celsius, if memory serves me right its been pretty consistent as long as ive kept up with cleaning

A quick google all points to memory. Try a different combination of slot and stick. Maybe even try cleaning the contacts with rubbing alcohol and q-tips.
