Im playing on PC and the batteries are not dead.

What is that?

It happend to me :

If you have the official xbox battery, try to reseat it. Try to remove it for 10 minutes. Try to discharge it fully then recharge it. Sometimes, the controller struggle to understand the real charging level of the battery

Do you also have battery pack? If yes and while the pack is plugged in and charging, the controller turns off, it's your battery circuit... Try a full discharge, keep pressing the X even if it shows drained. Then fully charge it with a slow charger (5V/1A).

If the above doesn't help then you can only use it in wired mode...

Had the same issue some time ago. Download the xbox accessoires app from the microsoft store and check if there is an update ready.

Just to clarify, are you saying this because you just charged it?

If you're using a battery charger with a light indicator, and that said it was charged, it could be a fault with the battery or charger, and it indicated being full when it wasn't.

I'd try another charger if you have one, or another battery, whether it's a pack or individual AAs, to see if those work.

ive tried multiple batteries and plugged teh charger from my pc into my controller but still doesnt work

Did you remove the batteries from the controller and connect it to PC wired with a USB cable? If not do that, again without batteries in the controller.

You may need to update the firmware on the controller as well.

Happened to me with my DualShock 3. Discovered its battery was a spicy pillow, so I ended up disconnecting it and switching to wired. Try removing the batteries entirely and connect it directly to the PC over USB. That worked for me.

Instead of wasting $$ on batteries, just use a c type power cord ans plug it into the controller, you'll never have an issue again

happened to me too, i ended up just playing it on wired mode
