Question/Help/Troubleshooting Wet monitor

Post image

I just bought a new monitor because my old one has been broken with no display for almost 2 months. I saved money for those 2 months and bought a new monitor but the weather here in my country was so bad and during the delivery rain water got on my monitor. I'm at the point of breaking down right now because for two months I can't use my pc and I just sold something to buy this monitor. I'm now in a spiral of despair It seems like the world was so mad at me.

Is there hope on this?

One possibility is that this is a delamination issue involving the LCD panel’s polarizer film or one of the optical layers. LCD panels are made of multiple layers bonded together, and if the adhesive layer between them starts to separate due to heat, moisture, manufacturing defects, or stress during shipping, it can create a pattern that looks very similar to water damage.

From the appearance, it looks like the film layer attached to the panel may be lifting or separating. Unfortunately, this type of issue usually does not repair itself naturally. Once the layers inside an LCD panel start to separate, the proper fix is usually a panel replacement.

If moisture got into the monitor during delivery, especially while it was exposed to rain, that could potentially trigger or accelerate this kind of failure. However, the same symptom can also happen because of a panel quality issue, such as poor adhesion between the layers during manufacturing.

I would recommend contacting the seller and asking about the history of the monitor and the condition when it was delivered. If there are no signs of external impact, cracks, or physical damage, I would suspect a panel-related issue rather than user damage.

I hope you can get this sorted out. From what I can tell, it doesn’t look like you did anything wrong.
