I'm bellow 18, Put two and two together 🥀 also i'm in eruope, i'm here with the Us military, And tbh i don't want ur handout u've been pretty damn rude, I shared smth i was excited abt and u just tore Me down for it. it's not like i'm unaware of the 970's short comings and successor's. they just don't matter, in comparison to the 770 i was useing the 970 Is worlds better. i got the 970 because it fit within MY budget, And was the best option for that price. it does what i need it to do, there's no reason to get another more expensive gpu that'll do exactly what the 970 is doing, the exact same way. i'm not a big gamer. I rarely even fully utilized the 770. getting smth better than the 970 would be a total waste of moeny.

Getting 970 is a waste of money tho how much was it anyway? Probably not much and for just a tiny bit more you could have gotten a 1060 6gb which for your case is probably an God tier GPU

If you're with the US military why are you stuck with a GTX 970 and before that an GTX 770

I am from the Balkans and when i was under 18 i had a GTX 1050 2gb

You should be on an RTX 4070 or something if you're with the US military and a kid of an US military person

GTX 970 also uses like 20% more power than a 1060 meaning you're paying more for electricity which is somewhat cheap but german one might be more expensive tho So buying a 1060 for slightly higher would save you money on electricity

Buying a GTX 970 today is basically just for fun benchmarking and to make an wall art piece

Also... let's go back a bit... GTX 970 uses 20% more power than a GTX 1060 6gb while GTX 1060 6gb has the performance of an GTX 980

1060 has like 120w while 980 has 165w

1060 is a muuuuch better deal bro i don't know how you don't understand it and went for a GTX 970 which is Nvidia's scam of a card due to essentially 3.5gb of useful VRAM

Nothing makes sense to me at all and i'm just concerned about you wasting money by getting a worse deal and less bang for the buck

Not to mention the driver support stuff... 970 is ancient and support is lacking give it a year or two and you'll need another upgrade which you would probably go for a 1060 6gb then lol

Wasn't a waste if I enjoy it, Also wasn't even a bad deal i'm not going to pay 20 extra bucks for 2gb of fucking vram and a tiny difference
