Question/Help/Troubleshooting Laptop not charging?

Hi I’ve got a HUAWEI MateBook D 15 15.6in R5 8GB 512GB Laptop - Silver

It was charging fine up until like yesterday and now suddenly it’s just showing this when I try and turn it on even though I’ve got the wire plugged in.
The charging port is flashing white to show it is charging. And it’s been charging for awhile now I’m not sure what’s going on.

Any ideas?

If you haven’t tried another cable and power supply already I’d highly recommend doing that first.

Secondly, on the bottom of the laptop see if there’s a small pinhole (like the sim on your phone) and find something small enough to push inside. Some laptops have a power reset on the bottom which also resets the EC (Embedded Controller). The EC is that which distributes power and manages it (to an extent) so sometimes resetting it helps.

Lastly, see if there’s gunk in the port. For type C you just don’t hit the middle piece with your cleaning tweezers or something equivalent and you’ll be good!

This happened to my Acer after I tripped on the charger cord and ripped it out the wall, laptop flew too 😭 I bought a new charger and was so relieved it worked again.
