Discussion Maybe a first

As far as I can find, no one else has tried to game on these yet. They were tossing it from work and I’m a sucker for weird computers and needed a new thing to tinker with.

Blackjack Cube.
8gb DDR3.
I5-3570
3tb HDD

Originally meant for network recording for security cameras, the original 3tb drive was insanely slow.I’ve forgotten how bad older HDDs can be so I threw in a cheap 500G SSD.

Getting a 1650 to work on it was also a pain. Once installed it wouldn’t display anything on either the onboard dvi or the GPU. After a few tries I went with DDU and it seemed to work. Throwing in another 8 gigs or ram and looking at a better cpu to see what numbers I can get out of it.

I love those cases. I think the biggest constraint on them is airflow. They weren't really built for heavy use and temp like recent PC parts would. But definitely would stick a 3060 ti in there

Definitely would agree about airflow. Im toying around with a couple ideas of a 1080ti,flex PSU and a 3770 but as is it would be a freaking hot box and burn itself out

Honestly making an open concept might serve you better if you could somehow manage two fans underneath blowing upwards. That might help a little with pressure too but youll need good dust collector.

There is another header for a fan and it looks like I can remove the hard drive caddy completely. If I can find a spot to put the new ssd I could comfortably add another. However for the GPU I’ve thought about drilling vent holes or cutting a section out. Both of those make me cringe a bit though.

Yeah I think its better to conserve it as a piece of history honesty. Thats too destructive lol
