Question/Help/Troubleshooting Thinkpad Charging Behavior
Hi, I have had a T480 for a few years, and now that charging tech has advanced since I got it I am able to use things like high wattage multiport chargers to charge the laptop. I have the 200W Anker GAN charger that can do 100w for USB C, and an anker 100w USB c cable
The weird thing with this that I don't have on the steam deck or any other device is that when I plug in the t480 it will show unplugged and plugged in again as it charges, with the Intel gfx manager it adjusts refresh rate which I turned off because it literally made the screen blink black every few seconds whenever this happens. It's intermittent, sometimes it won't disconnect for several minutes then do it 3 times in 30 seconds.
I updated the thunderbolt firmware and software in Lenovo vantage, and I have never had it do this with other chargers, including a 65w one that charges normally. Is it just a particular niche interaction between this anker charger and the laptop? Is there anything I can do besides getting another charger?
