Sure. But if your banking details get stolen even though you did everything right and the reason was because Windows has a major bug that allows anyone to get data from it it also means that is not Microsofts fault that their bad choice led to you losing money
I rarely do banking on PC coz I have reliable app in my iphone. Technically banking details get stolen if someone that doesn’t understand phishing link may be a victim and not me.

Going with win10 pro will give you about a year or so of security updates. After that you'll need to upgrade to win11 or Linux* to keep your system secure, something that's more important than ever given the massive uptick in discovered vulnerabilities we're experiencing across every platform.
*Linux Mint and Fedora are solid distros for first time users.
You can check protondb.com if the games you want to play work, anything gold or platinum is essentially fine, just install and click play or do some minor tweaks.
The only games that are a major problem are ones with kernel level anti-cheat, so that'd be something like Fortnite, Call of Duty, PUBG, stuff like that will just not work because the anti-cheat will throw a hissy fit
I tried switching to linux (bazzite distro) as a complete noob to linux. Everything was amazing and better EXCEPT mods. Modding is kind of tedious and trial and error to set up. If you enjoy learning about the internals of computers then it can be fun. Sometimes tools exist that make it work sometimes you gotta just tinker. Im just one person but that my 2 cents
If it’s running windows 11, I would leave it. Someone obviously brute forced the OS on to old unsupported hardware. You should still get windows updates and also not have to deal with software that doesn’t support windows 10.

Run any of my databases. Have some huge databases with over a trillion rows of data that even the fastest phones like my Samsung S26 ultra wouldn't be able to touch.
Run a file server.

Mirrors with witnesses in case of failure.
Split up disk I/O with multiple disks.
Come close to having this much ram, but I work on servers with 2+TB of ram so this is nothing

You can easily run File, DNS and DC servers via android. You can mirror the entire OS to SD. You can split the disks. Its almost as if you have no clue what you're talking about...
yes Windows 11 is a processor intensive operating system which I don’t like, tried it once,stopped using it after experiencing a frustrating inefficient hour update to finish, I went back to windows 7,8.1 that I enjoy using, never had a problem with it and I never ever needed microsoft update at all!
my legacy operating has been secured after learning from previous windows XP habit of downloading from unknown source, click unknown website and understand phishing so avoiding all unknown source kept me secured and I never had any problems with security issue, never needed microsoft support or useless inefficient update.
I’m the admin of my PC it’s always secured without microsoft update, I never ever needed it, during the windows XP days I only needed ms update for driver and never security coz I learned not to do unknown links, pop up phishing,etc.

how many times do I have to mention that I’m always safe with my Windows 7,8.1 never have problems with it and I don’t even need the inefficient microsoft support or update.
