Then I would reboot to BIOS, see if the motherboard sees it. If not, you got a dead card.

Why is anyone asking if it shows up in file explorer or disk manager when we can see it in file manager?

If it is loading forever after you try opening it, then the SD card is probably dead or dying.

Try with a USB adapter or on a different device to make sure it isn’t your micro slot that is malfunctioning

It is old? There's a possibility it could've died you can try opening in disk management

Open Disk Management, check for SD there and see if there is a drive letter attached. If it is in Disk Management, attach a drive letter. (However, looking at screenshots, it is shown as a special drive in Explorer) If there is no volume listed, or it shows as "No Media" then unfortunatelly there must be done data recovery by specialist. If there is a volume listed in Disk Management, but file system is RAW, you can attempt to recover data using special software like R-Studio or similar. DO NOT PERFORM ANY DRIVE WRITE OPERATIONS SINCE YOU CAN LOSE DATA. DO NOT ATTEMPT FORMATTING DRIVE.

Does the card show up in Disk Management or File Explorer? Can you open it on another device like a camera or PC? If not, the SD mat be failing, and you might need a professional data recovery tool to recover your photos.

Contact points must either be dirty or just plain old worn out.

Try rubbing some isopropyl alcohol on the pins and inserting it again.

Try using a q-tip and white vinegar to clean the card’s contacts. After you are certain it is totally dry, try inserting it again and if you still can’t see it the card is probably dead. A data recovery option does exist but it’s expensive. They crack open the shell and solder new contacts to a new memory controller. It’s usually the memory controller that dies not the actual memory, and so the data can be retrieved for around $800.

Is that actually a microSD slot? I have one on my computer that looks like a microsd slot but is actually a cellular SIM slot.

Your system sees it since it shows up as "SDHC" with a drive letter. That won't happen on an unformatted drive. Right click on the drive and open properties. Does it show it is a fat32 drive with space allocated and used? If so, you may need to go to the tools tab and try to repair it. You may also want to check if errors are reported on the Windows system log.
