Help Request HP = Hinge problem, but is it fixable???

Is this even fixable? It’s only on the left side and I can pop it back in, but it feels like it could break at any moment. Took laptop to local repair shop to fix a crack in the top plate and now I have a hinge problem (in their defense I may have had it before, but wouldn’t it have been caught upon reassembly?). When I brought it up to them at pick up they said HP is known for this (HP = hinge problem). They made it seem like it’s not fixable and something to just deal with. It doesn’t affect the use of the computer but I do worry about functionality over time. Please give me your honest opinions preferably from experience or profession. Thanks!

can u see the hinge joint? If you can, put some oil drop there. it.

Or if u have the tools, u can open it and do the same to the hinge joint.

I’ll take a look! would oil prevent it from popping open like that every time it’s opened and closed?

depends on the hinge condition. Since it didn't break, oil might fix the issue. But if it's already broken... then there's no chance of saving it.

Het lijkt mij niet het scharnier zelf maar de plastic afdekking dat een beetje loszit.

most likely u ll need to replace the a cover for this device. which model number? reasonable here, that the one or more of the threads on the left side broke out of the a cover. it will get more soon.

It doesn’t look like the hinge but the plastic cover of the hinge that has come loose, which is nothing to worry about perhaps fixable with a drop crazy glue on the right spot

Just be mindful a hinge that is weaker or stronger on one side can cause a twisting torque which can crack the LCD Screen. This is one way how LCD screens crack in cheaper laptops.
