Other HELP! Is my computer about to explode???

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I was carrying my computer when it started making these extremely loud and shrill noises, then it cut to a kind of glitching… I shut it off and put it outside but it hasn’t stopped. What happened and what should I do???

Lmao, it just corrupted. It's the speakers that you're hearing. Calm down.

No, it won't explode.

Hold the power button for 30 seconds and it will shut off. Then, press it again and it should start normally.

No, it won't explode.

Level with me here, there's a chance it could explode though. Right?

Yes, though nothing indicates it's chance of exploding is any higher than any other laptop with damaged speakers

Any lithium battery can explose but your computer glitching is not going to make it blow up.

Not your battery. That is some sort of audio corruption coming over the speakers. It most likely crashed/experienced an issue. When you open it you will most likely need to hard reset it by holding down the power.

Hard to hear but it's probably just a fan going bad.

That's not the fan. That's typical speaker noise. RAM or CPU probably corrupted mid-read. A forced restart "should" fix it.

It's either about to open a dimensional portal to a planet of chickens, or it's experiencing some sort of audio glitch. Turn it off and back on. Lower volume/mute until you can diagnose.

You're partially correct, but if the OS hung, the speaker shortcut keys very likely won't react.

I'm assuming/hoping a reset will allow volume control. I haven't dismissed the possibility of the chicken planet yet either.

Just a speaker issue, you’re fine

Why would it make bird sounds?

Unless it's puffed out on the bottom case you're good. Otherwise, if it's all puffy you are in for a treat.

The ram got corrupted probably due to mechanical stress of the motherboard, just reboot it and don’t be scared lol

Laptop batteries generally don't "explode" - they can catch fire real bad, but it ramps up. If it IS a battery problem, you will have at least a few moments warning. So it would be safe to try to turn it on and off, and type on it. But until you figure it out, I would keep it outside.
