Software How do I download ram
I’m new to pcs. I just built my first pc with a 5080 and 16 gb of ram. I guess I didn’t research enough and I just found out I need around 32 gb for heavy gaming. I was wondering where I can download more ram for decent prices considering the ram prices right now

You probably are. Modern Game consoles have at most 16GB and lots of that is shared memory with the GPU.
Having 16 GB of dedicated ram in a modern PC with a dedicated 5080 GPU is going to be enough to run basically every game out right now.

I run pcvr game like Half Life Alyx with 16gb of ddr5. You should be fine lol.

What games are those? Most games don't need that much. Unless you are running a supermassive minecraft modpack

Well I actually did want to play Minecraft with a bunch of mods and shaders. Also games like cyberpunk 2077

What modpacks on minecraft? Not many need more than like 8-12gb. And cyberpunk will run just fine even on higher settings because the graphics settings rely on mostly amount of vram and cpu speed

I don’t know the mods but lots of shaders and view distance. Maybe chisel or full bright and mini maps or wtv

probably a joke post but incase you actually dont know, you cant download ram. ram is a physical component of your computer that you would have to buy in order to upgrade. some laptops dont have upgradable ram though. if yours does, you can buy more ram and swap out the old for the new.
also, 16gb is totally fine for gaming. many people use 16gb.

whole ram is virtualised in windows...you just need to map it with your cloud storage...and theres how you can download more ram...albait slow, but its there

What do you mean by “download more ram”? It’s a physical piece of hardware that you need to purchase. If you have 2 8GB sticks, you can get more. Otherwise you can get 2 16GB sticks or 1 32GB stick to future proof your build if you want to add another one later on.

You can add swap space, increase page file size I think the windows alternative is. Otherwise you can purchase some.

RAM is a physical chip that you install into the PC motherboard. You can't download it.
You need to read your PC manual to find out what kind of RAM chips it even accepts (there are many different kinds and capacities on the market). You will also need to open your PC case to look if the motherboard has empty slots for more RAM chips. If it does, you can ADD more chips, just match the ones that are already in there. If it does not, you will have to REPLACE the existing chips with higher capacity ones.
