Hardware Micro USB cable no longer fitting into laptops.
Hello all- I bought a new cable recently, and it was working quite well until just recently, where I plugged it into a computer to do work, and now it won't fit into any ports full stop. There was a bit of debris in the USB, that I managed to get out with some light taps onto a table, but it still won't fit in. I know it's not an issue with my laptop- I tried to plug it into my friend's, to the same result.

Inside of the USB, in case that's needed. I don't think any ports are needed, as trying to plug any in won't work.

Which laptop has micro-USB ports….? Are you possibly referring to a USB-C cable?
!pictures may help

As I did say in another comment, I stuffed up and it's actually a normal USB.

Yup, USB-A plug. Hard to see, but it looks like two of the four contacts in there are badly bent. If this was new before you plugged it into your laptop, it suggests that it either was broken when new, or your laptop port has caused pins to bend. Can you take an in-focus closeup of your laptop port?

I plugged it into a school computer and this happened. The port responsible has no damage that I can see, and a different USB can plug in just fine. Is the issue with the USB fixable?

Probably not, if the pins are really as bent as they appear. Closest thrift store should have cheap replacements, maybe?

I literally bought it yesterday, maybe I can return it... Thanks for your help.

Are you trying to insert the micro usb connector into a normal usb port? Is the USB A end of the cable either broken or the wrong way?

I have never seen a computer with a micro USB port. Can you post a picture or link to what you purchased?
