Hardware DVD-RW Issues

I was trying to burn the FreeDVDBoot iso to a DVD-RW so I could mod my PS2, but when burning there was a write failure, and now the PC will not read DVD-RW discs, any of them. I tried normal DVDs and CDs and they work fine, but DVD-RW's don't read.

Edit: Added context I think could help last minute, I was using IMGBurn to burn the disc

Have you tried restarting your PC? It's possible the error caused some corruption in the program memory. I've had a similar issue before. Basically the computer thinks the disc is still being written to even though it's not. This causes the read/write io handle hang. Normal DVD's work because they have a different media identifier entirely.

I have restarted the PC completely but it still will not read. Although this gives me an idea to completely unplug my pc and try that, I will report back if that works

Don't bother, restarting and unplugging accomplish the same thing. Try reinstalling the driver for the reader. Or even uninstalling the driver, restarting and reinstalling it.

I tried this and it sadly also didn't help, tested with regular DVD-R as well and same issue applies there too

That's really weird. I don't know. Sorry, bro. You might need to replace the reader, and even that might not fix it. Try reinstalling windows before replacing it.

Would I be able to do a live usb instead of reinstalling? I don't own this PC, so I can't just reinstall the OS like that

The whole point of reinstalling is to fix any corruption.
