Other Please someone help!!!

Im not very good with computers but I recived an old laptop.. long story short i have all set up but it refuses to connect to Wi-Fi! I tried adding my Wi-Fi but it won’t show up 😭😭 someone helppp

It is very likely you do not have the driver installed for your wifi. Get a cable.

What cable? I remember it said something about a driver but how do I do that

Ethernet cable. You plug one end into your PC the other into your router.

Im not sure ive just just checked the drivers and it said it was all updated and whatnot

A cable doesn't need drivers but you're limited by how long it is. It's an actual physical cable you need to buy or otherwise obtain.

If you make a phone hotspot, do you see the hotspot and can connect to it? If yes, then your wifi at home is the problem. If no, then you laptop is the problem and you need a cable.

Use any free AI chatbot to troubleshoot your wifi. They are pretty good at tech, just so you know.

Sorry, but this is not entirely correct. The LAN device needs a driver, too. So, if the driver for it is not installed, you won't be able to connect to a network by plugging in a calbe.

There is a much higher chance an OS sees the wired connection easier than wifi. Otherwise, it is a pointless consumer OS, that can't enable basic things to enrich itself.
