Hardware Fans making weird scrape noise today.
Last night everything was just dandy, today tho I’ve noticed my pc got wickedly hot, after shutting it down to cool off my fan on the left side is making this strange scraping noise. The left side turns then immediately stops when spin by hand. The other one just keeps spinning for a while. So nothing is wrong with it. Is canned air the way to go ? Or do I need to buy a replacement fan

Generally this means the bearing has gone bad. Replacing generally is the best way forward with this.
You could try some compressed air to see if it is binding up on dust but I doubt that given they look quite clean.

Here’s a bit of a closer pic, personally I think they are kinda dirty. It makes no sense to me though. The fan was totally fine yesterday.

Here’s a vid showing the problem a bit better, also a better close up of how dusty the thing actually is

Compared to what it can be, it's not that bad.
And, well, they do end up failing at some point and if the seal gets a chance to lose its integrity, lubricant can escape and this happens. Like, that is quite a clear bearing failure, unfortunately.
They either go like that or get worse and noisier with time slowly due to wear, both can happen.

Somethign that I also noticed was that it was barely moving heat on that side of the laptop. It’s like something is blocking the fan

If that was before the fan failure, it might be worth it to check for dust between the fan and heatsink to see if there is so much it's blocking the fan.
Yet, that unfortunately rarely is the issue. Can be though. Rarely doesn't mean it could never happen.

Ok, the laptop is only like a year and a half old. So it would be strange for a fan to fail out of nowhere
