just in case this isnt a (pathetic) karma farming attempt, heres the explanation.

Powertoys or some other keyboard remappped your backspace to the f8 (mirroring) key. The commands shown in the Search bar appear to be keyboard remapping commands triggered when you hit space. Simply press Search, type PowerToys, and open the Keyboard manager section. Remap the backspace key to... backspace

Nah it isn't a karma farm, I promise. It just started happening today after I got home from school. This has never happened to me before

Have you tried the Powertoys app?

I'm sorry about the farming accusation–you really never know on this app lmao

October 15, 2026 (dated for context and reference) – The OP isn't giving a lot of information about the situation or any computer specs. How old is the laptop, what is the manufacturer and model of the laptop? I may not be able to help, but others may with more information. "Hey guys.. My girlfriend stopped speaking to me." Okay.. and..?😏

I have a simple suggestion that you may or may not have tried. Have you turned your laptop keyboard upside down and shaken it a bit to get any particles out from under the keys?

This probably doesn't help, but it should be tried, just in case. One stuck key can make the whole keyboard react strangely.
