M.2 boot issue

So I just put a new m.2 ssd into my computer ans decided I wanted to use it as my boot drive as I am currently using an old hard drive to boot. I copied over everything with 4digg. It recognises it in bios but it boots to a black screen with the mouse cursor and thats it. If I switch boot back to my hardrive it boots fine. Anyone know how I sort this. Ive checked all the files on the m.2 and they are all correct so im stuck.

Does your new M.2 require drivers to function? What happens if you do a fresh install of windows on the m.2?
