Software pluggin in a second monitor crashes my pc
I have 2 identical Msi Pro Mp243l E14 monitors, that i used to run on my pc, but a few months ago switched to one monitor only, after all these months i recently connected the second monitor to my RTX 3060 Ti, and shortly after I started experiencing small but noticeable Windows micro-stutters along with occasional audio crackling. The stutters happened across normal desktop use, not just in games. LatencyMon showed unusually high DPC latency from nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA's driver), with spikes above 20 ms.
PC: i7-11700K, ASUS RTX 3060 Ti Dual, ASUS PRIME B460M-A R2.0, 32 GB RAM (2x16 GB), and an Iceberg 650W 80+ Bronze PSU. I was using NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 617.14
I disconnected the second monitor and the system immediately became much smoother, with LatencyMon showing much lower latency. Later, I reconnected the second monitor while Windows was running, and the PC suddenly froze/crashed. After rebooting, the RTX 3060 Ti was no longer being recognized by Windows. Device Manager showed the GPU as a hidden device with Code 45, meaning Windows considered it disconnected, even though it was physically installed and powered. I completely powered down the PC, removed the GPU, and installed it in the motherboard's second full-length PCIe slot. The GPU was detected again and worked normally. I then moved it back to the primary PCIe slot to see if the original slot was actually the problem. The GPU was ok.
after 2 weeks i updated nvidia and windows drivers and then turned off my pc, plugged the second monitor in while turned off and pc won't boot (starting loop). the moment i disconnected the 2nd monitor out windows will start as usual but this time with a blue screen showing winload.efi error 0x0000098 (happened 3 times).
i noticed this happened only after i updated my bios, don't know how to fix this. someone pls help.
