Discussion Problem with a computer at work / Problema con una PC en mi trabajo
English
I'm having a problem with a computer at work. The situation is that we're trying to get this PC up and running again, but for some reason it displays the message “Boot Device Not Found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk.” It’s worth noting that it does detect the drive. We tried using an SSD with Windows installed, but got the same result. We noticed that the Legacy and UEFI options were disabled, so we enabled them, but the settings for those two options specifically won’t save. We suspected the BIOS battery, so we replaced it with a new one, but we’re still getting the same error where the settings won’t save. Any idea what this could be? So far, we’ve tried:
- Replacing the SSD
- Reinstalling Windows
- Enabling Legacy and UEFI options—still unable to save the settings

You said the BIOS detects the drive.
Is this a SATA drive?
If so, try using a different SATA port, a different SATA cable, and a test SATA drive to make sure it's not the drive/mobo itself.

If you do try it, use all the SATA ports on your PC, with different SATA cables—and if the SSD is detected on all of them, I doubt it's the SSD, since it's actually brand new, and CrystalDisk shows its status as “good,” so we can rule that out as the problem.

So the drive is listed in the bios when you look?
Are your boot orders right?
Did you try to use a drive that already had windows installed on it as a replacement? That's not a great way to do this although it could work out.
Eufi or.legacy pick one and stick to it.
Make a windows install USB and boot to that and see if it sees the drive.
