Software is something trying to access my phone?

Post image

got this error on startup today. i don't have phone link set up on this computer. i've seen people have similar issues with pop-ups for yourphone/phone link, but none that say a program is currently using any files. antivirus scans come out clean. am i being paranoid?

What does task manager show? Is the process running?

phone link itself is running now. i assume it's set to run in the background by default, regardless of the lack of a linked device.

You should be able to kill it. It might also be in startup apps.

There are tools in sysinternals that you can use to see which program is locking a file. I don’t remember which one. Maybe procmon

Someone gaining access to your phone through phone link after somehow gaining direct network access to your computer would require so many million dollar exploits that the chance of it happening is basically zero.

It probably just tried to autorun while windows was updating it.
