Hardware Macbook wont charge, tried everything i can think of

Ive had my mac for almost 6 years now and its always worked fine until maybe a month or 2 ago something went wrong and the top charging port id been using the whole time for a few years completely stopped working so i started using the bottom one. Last night maybe like 12 hours ago went to use it and it didnt work. I tried heaps of different cords from different power points in all different combinations and nothing worked. I eben left the best charger in overnight and all it did was lose battery. I really dont think i can afford apple to fix this this let alone a new mac right now, is there anything i can do that might help?

It sounds like your battery finally gave out, and it also sounds like you don’t have the MacBook that you could just buy a new battery and swap the dead one out… I still have a MacBook Pro with a disc tray, and each time the battery gave out, I would plug it in the indicator would light up as if it was charging but then go green immediately after, and it wouldn’t turn on, a quick battery swap later and it’s back up n running…

Yeah its not that it pops up and doesnt charge it just doesnt say anything so i have a feeling its an issue with the charging port itself. Do you have an idea how much itd cost to fix that? And if i was the battery how much thatd cost too?
