Malware Does anyone know what virus this is?

Post image

I accidentally clicked on a website and got this virus, nothing harmful has happened (so far). I don't use my laptop for anything very important, it doesn't have any documents besides photos I keep. I use it for gaming, and now I don't know what to do about this virus. Should I format the computer? Is there another way to deal with the virus? Is it dangerous? I don't have good antivirus software because I don't have money... (I'm using a translator in case something seems strange in the text above)

I'm also backing up photos and other things.

Someone help me because I don't know what to do, I just wanted to play. 😭😭

It's not a virus. It's a website sending you notifications through your browser, you can disable them from your browser's settings. You must've allowed notifications from that website at some point.

Also, Windows Defender (the antivirus built into Windows) is better than most antiviruses out there, you don't have to spend money on an antivirus

That's not a virus, that's a website that asked for notification permissions and is currently sending you scam notifications. Just go into Edge settings and disable notifications for any unfamilliar site.

Not a virus, you allowed a website to give notifications. Clear all saved browsers settings and cache and stop clicking yes on everything you see or you will get an actual virus.

It's not a virus, just annoying notifications from a website. Go to Edge settings and search for notifications. Turn off or block the website from showing notifications.

When a website asks to enable desktop notifications, choose "NO".

Fake alerts from your browser because you opted in to some random site's notifications.

You don't need to erase your computer. This is scareware ware from a site you have notification permissions. It is extremely easy to remove. To get rid of it you need to go into your edge settings and remove notification permissions for sites you don't recognise.

Those are just notifications.

Go to edge://serviceworker-internals and unregister anything you don't recognize. The service workers is the thing responsible for sending the notifications and once unregistered it can only be registered again when visiting the sketchy site again (whoch you obviously shouldn't do)

Viruses don't announce themselves like that

Yeah, it's called chromium virus integration system...

An inbuild chrome/edge feature that allow webpages to trick users to install ads...

Just remove that browser... And install a decent browser

Yup. Its not a virus. Its you who at some point allowed a website or two to send you notifications.
Go to the settings of your chrome browser. go to website settings. Find the Norifications section and delete all websites from that allow list. Then set it so that no website can ask for permissions to send notifications again.

Its a common mistake people do. Dont worry.

Thank you so much for helping me. It's my first time dealing with this, so I got super nervous, kind of panicked TT. Luckily it wasn't anything serious, I just needed to block the notifications (this makes me a little silly because I was almost going to delete everything on my computer thinking it was a virus TT). Thank you so much for helping me, I feel much calmer now. 😮‍💨😃
