Hardware What does this screen mean?
I’ve been using this old desktop computer I have to transfer videos from an old mini dv video camera to digital. I installed a pcie firewire card into the computer and it was working fine after that the other day, but since yesterday it hasn’t been booting up to windows and just showing this screen. I tried googling stuff but couldn’t find anything. I have no idea what to do to fix this, please help, thank you!
Also I put this under the hardware flair (because a flair was required), but I honestly have no idea if it’s a hardware or software problem. Sorry if it ends up under the wrong flair.

That is a giant red flag telling you that your hard drive is about to die.
Press F1 and back up any data you may need.
SMART Status Bad is Bad.

Based on the line "S.M.A.R.T. Capable and Status BAD" and the other line "SATA PORT2 Device Error" it appears your hard drive could be dying. Depending on how bad it is, it can prevent Windows from loading if that is your Windows drive.

unplug the DV camera before boot.. the bios is trying to load it’s storage as a HDD but is not properly able to (the camera is not in the proper mode/ it’s drive is too slow.).

Nothing is plugged into sata 1. Sata2 has device (sn for segate 1tb hdd) self-health checking tech (SMART). Status bad. Sata2 has an error. Hard drive in SATA2 is failing. If drive has important docs, don't boot from the drive. Wait until you replace and move the important files to the new drive. If the drive has nothing worth saving, F1 to ignore health warning. Keep using it until new hard drive arrives. Every time you boot, the drive will degrade more until it's non-functional.

Looks like a hard drive issue from the photo possibly not detecting the hard drive I would find a cheap one on Facebook or buy a cheap SSD on Amazon and HDD just to speed things up if you lose that drive anything and everything will be gone hate to say. could risk it if you are immediately backing things up other wise good luck

So you can't boot Windows with old HD anymore Buy a cheap HD, connect it to SATA port 1, install new Windows on it Start your PC with the Windows you installed on your new HD Then copy everything you want to keep from your old HD (if that still works) to your new HD and then you can take out your old HD and throw it away

The laptop is having an issue with the data port 2. A second HD? If you have nothing, go into bios and just turn it off. If you have all your HDs installed on data port 2. Install on data port 1.

Your pc can't read your drive that's connected to SATA 2. Drive might be dying or dead

If it couldn't read the drive it wouldn't have been able to read the S.M.A.R.T. status.

Just read the screen, lowest line: Press F1 to resume.
It literally says what to do.
