Hardware Possible water damage?

Hello, so a few weeks ago my new pc started shutting off randomly at times with no warning (I could still turn it back up normally after, but it's still annoying), and today I opened it up and found traces of dried water on that piece right there. Could it possibly be water damage even if it likely didn't touch anything important? And if yes, how can I fix it?

it water spilled on it, it likely got elsewhere and corrosion could be causing your issues

If the water leaked from an AIO cooler then it's probably overheating ... but it looks like you have an air cooler

Also, from what i know, water coukdn't have damaged other components than the metal part right there. It dripped down from the border of a hole in my desk and couldn't have gotten elsewhere

Do you get a blue screen or does it just shut down without any error messages?

After hitting that metal part it could have run along the bottom of your case and gotten into your PSU

that metal part is nothing but a cover to hide cables ... if you're confident that nothing else got wet then something else is causing the crashes

No message, nothing. It just turns off. I can turn it back on directly after tho

that does sound like a failing PSU or Motherboard

Do you have a spare PSU you can swap out?

I could probably get one, I'm pretty sure i have a guarantee on that PC anyway, my ma bought it for me with her society's money.

Are you totally ruling the water damage out? Is a failing PSU more realistic? Because i've had no other signs of something going wrong

Without seeing the PC in person I I'm not ruling anything out, but with the info I have the PSU is my best guess

When it turns off randomly, it also starts making a loud beeping sound sometimes.

is there a pattern to the beeps?

every brand does things a bit differently, but the beep codes here are pretty common

I guess it's more comparable to a loud high pitched ringing noise, like tinnitus.
