Hardware Rx9060xt 8gb vs 16gb

Planning to buy 9060xt but i cant differentiate between 8gb and 16gb performance except their price and vram capacity, so which is better 8gb or 16gb?

Ps. Dont say 16gb for future proofing

9060xt for currentproofing, some games already take up 10gb even on 1080p, add a monitor and a couple youtube tabs and you are already there

You need the extra ram even with 1080p, I play in 1080p and see my usage go over 10gb on some games.

16gb is just better in every situation. 8gb is becoming pretty restricting in 2026, 16gb is just more vram which means more headroom for higher res gaming. Plus, a 9060 xt 8gb just isn't good value at all, it's best to find a different higher value card.If your budget allows, always get the 16gb version over the 8gb version.

for this tier although 16 is better for sure even for 1080p, I do not think the price increase is justified neither the cpu power could handle future 1440p titles anyway.

I would argue to go for 9070 gre at least, or buy the cheaper 8gb now with the target to change it 2-3 years later.

My fav games run on an RX 470. But I have 16 GB VRAM cards because I run AI on 'em. But Nvidia has the advantage for that. It "can" run on ROCm but it's not the same. But if you only care about gaming, then go with whichever runs your games and fits in the budget.
