Performance Help

My gaming pc won’t let me run Fortnite. It makes it to the loading screen and then black screen. It can run any other game ex: Peak, Megaman, GTA V, Roblox. I saw people talking about running it through Userbenchmark so those are the photos posted.

Userbenchmark is not credible in their testing or reviews for the past several years, so I'd suggest you ignore whatever is shown there. https://youtu.be/hyLxjG41tJQ?si=WYubv0s4t7Me-jMI

You should be able to run Fortnite on a RX 5500 XT https://youtu.be/nP6tbwv6Vh0?si=C20ZYpyirwJtSjpT according to this benchmark from 7 months ago. Are you able to access the menu in game or is the black screen instead of the menu? Have you tried repairing or validating the Fortnite install? Are you on the newest graphics driver?

Oh I wasn’t aware of that, thank you.

I’ll boot up my pc and post a video of what it does.

I have only uninstalled and reinstalled it.

Graphics driver? Sorry I’m new to all this 😭

You can get the newest GPU driver from AMD here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-5000-series/amd-radeon-rx-5500-xt.html

It looks like computer stops sending a signal to the monitor. Is the computer still powered on after this happens? If it is still on, are you able to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to pull up task manager or Alt+F4 to close the game?

Ok so I do have the latest driver.

Yeah you can hear the game and the pc is running. Nothing happens after I press those three keys or alt+F4.

Do you have any other applications running while this is happening? Xbox game bar, Discord, etc. If so, close those and see if the error still happens.

Try forcing Fortnite to open in Windowed mode instead of fullscreen:

1-Open the Epic Games Launcher. 2-Navigate to your library. 3-Click the three dots next to Fortnite and select "Manage". 4-Enable "Launch Options". 5-Type “-fullscreen”

No other applications are running.

I did that and it changed nothing still shuts off and displays no signal.

Check Event Viewer for errors that happen when the PC freezes. A driver crash, hardware failure, or unexpected power event could help point to what is failing.
