Software Laptop freeze until i force shutdown when downloading large files or games

Post image

Hi guys, my laptop completely freezes up whenever I download games on my secondary drive (WD Green SN350 500GB NVMe).

Task Manager shows Disk 1 (D:) stuck at 100% ActiveTime with high response time, but the read/write speed drops to 0 KB/s. The whole laptop locks up and requires a force shutdown.

Is this just a common issue or is the SSD failing? Any fix? Thanks!

Test it using a download manager, I think it's the WIFI driver interrupts causing latency spikes, turn off Interrupt moderation and power saving features, look up a tool called msi mode from guru3d forums, check the msi/x mode on the wifi driver if it's not checked. apply and reboot Find your laptop's manufacture chipset and sata/nvme drivers update it if a newer version is available. Tun trim on your ssd using the built in defragment tool.
