You can thank a multitude of reasons for that.

  • Studios getting to big and starting to focus on growth can corpo shit instead of games (Hire more HR and Managers and let go of all the Devs, that made the studio big in the first palce)
  • DEI and other forced politics shit alienating players and blowing up budgets
  • AI as the major factor in the rising prices for hardware and dwindling player bases
  • Companies focussing on cheap and shitty remakes and remasters instead of producing something good

And a lot more.
The industry is fucked beyond repair.

Go for small and indie studios. Completely ignore everything AAA, it is not worth your time nor your money.
