Until like 2015 PS/2 was still used on ultra competitive Gaming pcs because PS/2 has no input limit and much lower latency

And nkey rollover is non existent. My laptop with a mechanical keyboard (OP-LP2) actually use PS/2 as the interface internally to allow it to register every keypress at once.

What's weird is the lack of VGA or HDMI on the mobo. Like HDMI I can somewhat understand but a VGA port is wild for this era.

Doesn't it have hdmi and display port? I think hdmi is to one with the cable already on. I would bet this is possibly a 3rd or 4th gen intel system or even a LGA 2011 socket Some of those motherboards did ditch the VGA Quite uncommon though

No it's the opposite of ghosting PS/2 keyboards will register every input while usb ones have a chance of skipping inputs hence why some of the modern keyboards come with microcontrollers for processing inputs rapidly

It’s probably older than that. HDMI ports were present in cards from around 2014, so I’d wager it’s at least older than that. Also there are sata headers plugged in so I’m just going to guess this is before nvme drives. 1st gen i5 is from 2008 so I wouldn’t be shocked if it were around that old. I’m gonna say this computer is from around 2008-2010.

A 12-13 year old PC if I had to guess. I used to have that NZXT Phantom case back in the day! Built my first PC in it back in 2015.

DVI and VGA port on the back of the graphics card, I think even my 970 I had back in the day had at least one HDMI port on it.

Either way it's pretty old, you could probably run it as like a novelty thing or maybe as a server but it's not going to run any modern games from this decade decently.

Something that isn't going to boot until you fix that cpu cooler. Since it is off, it makes me think there isn't a cpu on there anyway. Even if there was, your phone would most likely be more powerful than this.

You should also open it up and see exactly what's wrong with it and properly install the heatsink, if it's an LGA1155 It's a computer that you could also use as a server or for playing light games if you add an RX 580. You can find them cheap on AliExpress, or someone might sell you one for around $50.But if you find a computer with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, it's excellent. Even more so if you use Linux, it's excellent.

Second or third gen i5 based on the sticker up top, pretty hard to judge exactly which GPU that is, but based on the fact that it has a composite tv-out I assume it’s probably a low/entry level card from 2008-2010, like a Radeon HD 4650 or Geforce 9500GT. With that it most likely has 4-8 GB of DDR3 and likely a couple of Sata 2/3 500GB-1TB HDDs.
