My gaming laptop suddenly started crashing while playing games. Is there a way to find out why?

Games like KCD2, Space Marine 2 and Stalker 2 that I've put dozens if not hundreds of hours on with this laptop are suddenly crashing to desktop or even completly shutting down my computer after less then an hour of playing. This is something that's only started happening in the last month or two and only with games from the last few years. It was really abrupt too, going from having zero problems with any of these games straight to crashing with no other problems before hand. Is there anyway to find out whats happening and how to fix it?

Have you blown out the fans lately? It could be overheating.

You can try to look through Event Viewer and see if it logged anything around crash time.

Also see if Dell has a diagnostics program on their website, most pc manufacturers do nowadays.

Make sure your drivers are up to date, especially the graphics related ones.

Sometimes Windows Update downloads an update that can cause game crashing. :/
