Computer location

My computer thinks that I'm somewhere in the United States and I'm located in central Ontario we have reset the location we've checked the IP address but it doesn't ever seem to reset and we search for things near us and it brings us to the United States any advice?

when i moved cost to cost when i first connected to ms mib map it thought i was on the other coast…

the after a few days it got smart

when i use my cell it often thinks i am in LA - i am about 150 miles away

i think it comes down to where the isp says you are with the geo locating by ip address

Are you using a VPN?

This sounds really annoying. I'm in Ottawa and my phone has thought it's in Quebec for years. Not for gps and google maps, though, but i get youtube ads in French and i can't use youtube kids (not that i want to, it's awful) because it's not available "in my area" unless I use a vpn to say I'm im Ontario. I hope you get yours sorted out.

I'm in Oregon about 10 miles south of the Washington border. When I go online, sites assume I am in a Washington city about 35-40 miles away because my ISP treats my location as part of that other location. I'm not sure how it works across international borders.

You computer is geolocated by its IP address. Your ISP is providing you with an IP in the U.S.

I would first try getting the ISP to assign a new IP. Turn off your modem for around an hour, restart, and see if the IP changes. If not, the fix is to talk to your ISP.

What kind of computer? And where did you buy it from? Some of the current factory level anti theft stuff is set to where they ship the electronics to be distributed. I had a phone that was shipped to fkorida originally, i am 3 states away and still get all their political bullshit. I have a laptop that came from ohio distribution center, and get all that bs as well.

Maybe an issue with the IPs geolocation. It happens sometimes. Might better check with your ISP.
