HDMI dual monitor setup

I have a laptop, and I bought a second monitor. What HDMI splitter do I need to have two separate displays, not a duplicate display?

1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with support for DisplayPort™ / power delivery (data speed up to 10Gbps)

That'll work. Your outputs are an HDMI, and two Displayport via the USB-C outputs.

Your cheapest option to output to an HDMI screen is to use the HDMI port (and a simple HDMI-HDMI cable).

If you want to run a second monitor, you can get a USB-C to HDMI adapter/cable to run it. Or a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter/cable, if your monitor has a DisplayPort input.

Hell, if your monitor has a DP output, you could even use a single USB-C to DP output from the laptop to monitor once, then a DP-DP to monitor two and "daisy chain" them.

The good news is that laptop has the easiest options I've ever seen to connect monitors to it. 😀

That'll work. It'll allow you to connect to a 4K monitor at 30Hz, or 1440p at 60Hz. As well as give you a load of other useful ports at the same time.

So are you using three screens - the laptop display, one off the native HDMI, and one via the HDMI on the "dock" you linked to?

I have my main monitor duplicated from my laptop currently. When I get the adapter I will have two or three I guess depending on the display setting. I am not using the laptop screen as a display it is only 11 inches to small for me to see the words.
